Contact: barisdemircan@outlook.com.tr

Sirran keeps core daily worship close at hand on iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, and Wear OS: prayer times, Qibla direction, a tasbih counter, and a Quran reader — privacy-first and account-free. Every tier is free of advertising SDKs and advertising identifiers. Sirran Plus supports independent, privacy-first development.

Frequently asked questions

How are prayer times calculated?

Using your selected published calculation convention, madhab (Shafi or Hanafi Asr), high-latitude handling, and location. You can use device location or pick a city manually. Where supported, an explicitly selected official timetable is shown with its authority, place, coverage, and freshness; local calculation is never mislabeled as an official schedule.

Why do I need to allow location?

Location is used on your device to compute accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction. If you decline, select a fixed city instead. Prayer and Qibla calculations stay on-device; the optional Nearby Mosques feature sends a rounded location to OpenStreetMap only when you use it.

How do prayer notifications work?

They are local reminders scheduled on your device. On Android, exact delivery uses the user-granted Alarms & reminders special access; without it, Sirran falls back to an honest inexact window. Notification permission is also needed. The Trust Center shows the active mode and latest reliability event.

Is the Qibla accurate?

The Qibla bearing is computed from your location; on-device the compass/rotation sensor points the indicator. Calibrate your device compass for best results.

What is Voice Tasbih?

An optional, opt-in feature on iPhone and Android that uses on-device speech recognition. It is off by default, runs entirely on your device (audio never leaves the device), and is disabled when on-device recognition is unavailable.

Where does the Quran text come from?

"Tanzil Quran Text (Simple)" comes from the Tanzil Project (tanzil.net), under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 with in-app attribution. The bundled English meal is the public-domain Pickthall translation. On Android, after explicit consent, Sirran's Production integration provides the Dar Al-Salam Center Turkish meal and Mishari Rashid al-‘Afasy ayah recitation. Sirran processes the requested public-content identity and ordinary HTTPS metadata, but does not send notes, bookmarks, or reading history. Its backend checks Quran Foundation Content Sync daily. Quran Foundation reading and recitation content is available regardless of paid subscription status.

How do offline Quran downloads work?

On Android, open Settings → Quran content & offline downloads, review the separate disclosure, and grant permission. Then open Quran → Offline content to download the Turkish meal, the current surah's recitation, or the full recitation. The approved meal and catalogue, together with audio whose download you start, are stored in app-private device storage. They may remain usable when the device is offline for longer than seven days. When internet access returns, Sirran synchronizes updates, invalidations, and removals as soon as reasonably possible. Audio cannot be exported or shared as a standalone download. Individual or all recitation downloads can be deleted from Offline content; withdrawing permission in Settings deletes all retained QF content.

Do you collect my data?

Sirran does not require an account or use product analytics or advertising SDKs. Core worship features run on-device. Optional Nearby Mosques sends a rounded location to OpenStreetMap when opened; an explicitly selected official timetable sends only the confirmed place ID, date range, and time zone to the configured Sirran adapter. After QF consent, a selected Turkish meal, recitation, or download request goes through the Sirran Worker to Quran Foundation as described above. See the Privacy Policy.
